Ryans Toyota GT86

Ryans Toyota GT86

Ever since the GT86 was realised by Toyota way back in 2012, it has become a staple within the automotive world and Ryans is no exception. Sporting a new look for this years show season, Ryans '86 is an outstanding show stopper.

When he first got his '86 in 2022, Ryan couldn't wait to start throwing parts at it. As it was a bog standard car, first on the list was to address the horrific arch gap. A Maxload air ride kit sorted this out as well as giving the car a presence where ever it was parked.

Once the ride height was dialled in, it was time to look at shoes. Ryan opted for a set of 18 inch 3sdm 0.06s finished in polished silver. But after a year, it was time for a change and he decided to try the white on white look. So off the wheels went for paint and a week later, the pearl white '86 was sitting on a set of blinding white 3sdms and looking stunning.

Throw in a Milan exhaust, smoothed front bumper and a carbon splitter kit, the '86 was ready for show season. After attending many shows during the 2023 season and a winter of daily driving, Ryan decided it was time for another change up.

So off the car went to KW Kustoms in Kilmarnock for its biggest transformation yet.

Wrapped in Teckwrap True Blood, the car was given a completely new look. While the car was away getting wrapped, Ryan was looking for new wheels, unsure of how the white would look but as soon as he seen how much the white made the True Blood red pop, he knew the white wheels had to stay. For now...

But, although it looks ready for the 2024 season, Ryan still has a few parts to install before attending his first show of the year.

We cannot wait to see the final product for this year and have no doubt it'll turn everyone's head where ever it goes.

Why did you choose a GT86?

- "I choose an '86 because I've always loved the shape and style and the aftermarket options are pretty much endless. Can put your own twist on it and really make it your own."

What is your favourite mod you've done?

- "My favourite mod would have to the be the air ride. Changes the entire car and still makes it a functional daily."

What's next for the car?

- "There's a few things I want to do. Need to get the fitment dialled in and there's a few other bits still to be fitted before the first show."

What got you into cars?

- "Would have to be Fast and Furious! Along with my first car being a Corsa B. I started modifying it and loved it ever since."
